Craft Stamper Take it, Make it Challenge Six

Good Morning, well I have been a bit busy for the last few weeks... designing,  Christmas card making and getting all the decorations out and dressing the tree, so it didn't leave a lot of time for other inky stuff but I'm sure the recipient has received their card so thought it fitted perfectly into the

As always, the challenge will be based on a technique showcased in the magazine, but this time we don't have one particular project in mind. Katy decided that as there are three projects featuring an 'ombre' effect in the January issue, then this is the technique we'll be focussing on!

an 'ombre' effect is just graduating colours of ink/paint/whatever....but feel free to interpret the theme as you wish!
I got out my Oriental Zen set and created an ombre background in graduating tones of green to tan inks, stamping off to get a fainter impression.
The peony, I have stamped twice, one with the leaves, then cut out with a border to look like a die cut, I cut the main flower with a border too. The sentiment comes from the Tree Hugs stamp set.

I hope you get some time to join in, the challenge runs for two months so plenty of inky time.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderfully creative day

Christmas Cards...

Well I'm well and truly into making my Christmas cards now thanks mainly to having a go at the Holiday card workshop run with instructors Kristina WernerJennifer McGuireLaura BassenShari CarrolDebby Hughes, and friends...
I fell in love with this technique demonstrated by Jennifer, I've always love wood marquetry inlay and it was so fun to create. I used kraft card instead of wood paper, just because I'm hoarding my wood paper right now and I just wanted to give the idea a go first..
But then I had the idea to try it out with some cork, but couldn't find my stash, then I experimented with sticky back canvas, thought it would work well with the back being sticky...
But it was much fiddlier and the canvas didn't fit in quite as well the card did.
I have more Christmas cards over at the Paperbabe Stamps Blog...

Knitted Thanks

Here's a pretty quick card to put together...

I used the DesignA Knit to create the background panel
The colours are from the summer card camp this week and they are not my usual palette... but I persevered and was pleased with the result.

I scored the banner at the opposite angle then I had wanted but guessing it still reads the same! These wooden buttons I've had in my stash for years.

Summer Card Camp2

I hope you're having a great week wow Friday already, I had wanted to post this earlier but this week had other plans!!!

Here is a really quick card, only uses one sentiment stamp from Tree Hugs stamp set,
I just had fun using it with some die cuts!

This next card, totally warms my heart, who can recognise where this was inspired from ROTFL? Yes a little bit of Horton Hears a Who! Love that film.

I used the pompoms from DesignA Knit to create the field of clover panel, I used post it note to create masks for stamping the different pompoms to get the layered look.
The yarn in the DesignA Knit set was perfect for all those clover stems. I stamped the clovers in quite bright colours, but diffused it with a layer of vellum.
The sentiment isn't one of mine but it was too perfect not to use! I heat embossed it on the vellum, then, I stamped a small pompom and stem (don't forget how easy it is to curve acrylic stamps) and fussy cut for the embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderfully creative weekend
I hope to bring you much more next week...

Retro Knitting...

Hello and happy Monday, hope you had a wonderful weekend,
Just wanted to post this quick card...

I used my Ribbed background stamp for the back panel, trimmed and stamped so the smaller strip is in a darker grey and the rest in the blue, then matched up the stitching.

The DesignA Knit stamp set was used to create this topper, I even stamped those pompoms onto a die cut pompom from the knitables svg file.

I thought it would be great fun to take part in the card camp and the first challenge was a colour challenge...

My card is based on this sketch..

Check Out Craft Stamper!!!

So I received my copy of Craft Stamper this morning and...

I have two articles in this issue... Thank you Katy!

THE August issue of the Craft Stamper Magazine went on sale, yesterday Fri 5th...

I did a feature called The Captain's Table, yes it's as fun as it sounds...
this nautical themed table setting was inspired by PaperArtsy's fabulous Hot picks 1111, 1201,
I created little table setting beach huts, that will adorn the table, you can even pop a safety tea light inside, the lids come off for easy use, as do the doors.

I also created table mats with coasters, bunting, invitation cards, and these nautical themed cupcake toppers!

Plus...
I have a card in the Ready Set Stamp regular feature.

And if that wasn't enough you may want to get your hands on a copy as...
quess what?

The first impressions page has a set of Paperbabe Stamps for a giveaway. WooHoo!!!

Thank you for all your support on the release of my stamps, I had the best time!
Have a wonderful weekend hope it's shining where you are
